My Journey to The Wizard of Dogs
Sometimes your dog needs a little bit of magic and sparkle in their lives to keep them cheerful and stimulated. That's where I come in.
I came from a family of dog lovers - both my parents instilled the importance of being kind and caring for animals from a very young age. I grew up with Mickey the Dog, learning about the special bond between humans and dogs.
Prior to The Wizard of Dogs, I worked as an Accountant in property finance with no real work-life balance. Long hours meant my partner and I couldn't have a dog at home despite desperately wanting one.
Everything changed when my mother was diagnosed with Dementia in 2021. Taking my step-daughter's dog Presley to visit mum in her care home showed me how dogs bring joy to people's lives. I re-evaluated everything, realising time with loved ones matters most.
The Wizard of Dogs fulfils my passion while making a real difference. As an independent owner with a huge field facility, I'm hands-on every step of the way. I combine professional dog daycare with therapy dog visits to dementia homes - doing what I love while helping others.
For me, The Wizard of Dogs isn't a job - it's a way of life. I want your dog to see me as a friend and look forward to our time together. Every dog receives personal attention and 5-star care at our facility.

What Dog Families Say About Dan
Real experiences from the families who trust Dan with their precious companions
“Dan has been brilliant. Before signing up, he came and did a home visit to get to know Buffy and she warmed to him immediately. Since then he's been an indispensible part of our support network and Buff stays with him anytime we are away. He's super flexible and communicative - he always sends updates during the day to show how she's getting on - and we're genuinely grateful to have found him.”
“Dan has been great with Ruby, picking her up and taking her out for long days, which is perfect for office days. He also has his own private, secured field which gives extra peace of mind. Dan is always keen to go out of his way where he can to provide flexibility when I've needed it.”
“We love sending Whisky to The Wizard of Dogs! Dan is amazing with the dogs, and Whisky has such a great time every time he goes. It's a huge relief for us knowing he's having fun and well looked after while we're at work. The pick-up and drop-off times are spot-on for anyone juggling a busy day, which makes everything so much easier. We get some lovely pup-dates too. It feels like Whisky is part of a little doggy family, and we couldn't be happier with the care he gets.”
